Mr. Chin-Yen Kao founded the President Enterprises Group in 1968. It is one of the largest and perhaps the most respected company in Taiwan. Mr. Kao has been its only chairman and in recent years, has formed very successful international joint ventures with the U.S.' 7-11 Convenient Stores, Pepsi Drinks, Starbucks Coffee, France's Carrefour and Germany's Allianz. Prior to establishing the President's Group, Mr. Kao was the director of sales of Tainan Spinning Company. Due to the long history of successful ventures in Taiwan as well as Mainland China, Mr. Kao is considered a legendary businessman in the Pacific Rim and has held the position of Chairman of Taiwan's Industrial Manufacturer's Association in 1999.

Mr. Cheng Kao-Huei is an industry leader with over four decades of leadership and success. Mr. Cheng has been Managing Director of Uni-President Enterprises Corp since joining the firm in 1967.
Mr. Cheng’s financial acumen combined with his leadership skills has helped his companies achieve and extend market leadership positions. He is currently Chairman of the Board for Tainan Spinning Co. LTD, a leader in the Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) industry in Vietnam. Since joining the firm in 1971, Mr. Cheng has also served as President, Vice Chairman, and Managing Director.
Mr. Cheng is also Chairman of Nan Fan Housing Development Co., Ltd. and Managing Director of President International Development Corporation. He was the former Chairman of NanTex Industry Co., Ltd.

Jo Shen is the President and CEO of ScinoPharm where she also was a founding partner. She has over 35 years of experience in the management of chemical & pharmaceutical businesses with in-depth experiences in strategic planning, business and organization development, technology transfer, supply chain management, quality control and assurance, environmental safety & health, cGMP compliance and formulation development and manufacturing.
Before co-founding ScinoPharm, Dr. Shen was with Syntex for 14 years and Monsanto for 7 years. At Syntex, she was Corporate VP for Pharmaceutical Technology & Operations. Prior to that, she was at Monsanto as Electronic Materials Plant Manager and Superintendent of Quality Control Engineering.
Dr. Shen holds a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Lehigh University, a M.S. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Iowa and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from National Taiwan University. Dr. Shen has served as Chairperson of Pharmaceutical Production Committee of PhRMA and in 1991, was given a "Woman In Industry" award by the YWCA in Santa Clara.

Hardy W. Chan, Ph.D. is presently the Senior Advisor of ScinoPharm Taiwan, Ltd., a company he co-founded in 1997. He also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Tanvex Biologics, a company ScinoPharm strategically invested into. He was previously Syntex's
Vice President of Research and Director of Biotechnology, as
well as a member of the company’s Committee on Biotechnology
Investments.
Prior to joining Syntex, Dr. Chan spent 4 years at the National Institutes of Health and through his research and publications, contributed significantly to the scientific community. Dr. Hardy Chan offers a unique blend of scientific and business development expertise. He serves as an advisor to multiple universities and non-profit research organizations. Dr. Chan holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin. He has published over 60 papers in scientific journals and holds a number of US patents.

Yung-Fa (Fred) Chen | Vice President, R&D | Chief Operating Officer, ScinoPharm Kunshan B.S., M.S. and Ph.D., Chemistry.
Dr. Chen has more than 25 years experience in chemical and pharmaceutical R&D. His expertise includes medicinal chemistry, process R&D and technology transfers. At ScinoPharm, Dr. Chen is responsible for Medicinal chemistry technical service as well as peptide and oligonucleotide technology development. In addition, Dr. Chen is responsible for ScinoPharm's Kun-Shan Process R&D operation.
Prior to joining ScinoPharm in 1998, Dr. Chen was employed for 7 years in the Refining and Manufacturing Research Center of Chinese Petroleum Corporation (CPC) where he worked on specialty chemical products and in process R&D. Before CPC, he was an adjunct professor of Chemistry at Tunghai University in Taiwan for 5 years, and at Wayne State University as a postdoctoral fellow of Medicinal Chemistry for two years.
Dr. Chen holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Wayne State University, a M.S. in Chemistry from National Taiwan University, and a B.S. from Tunghai University. Dr. Chen is the holder of six patents.

Kuo-Hsi Cheng has more than 20 years of experience in petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries. Dr. Cheng joined ScinoPharm in January, 1999, initially served as the Manager of EHS. Over the years, he has steadily expanded his responsibilities to include management of all small to medium production lines, Materials Management, Utility, EHS, Project Engineering, and Maintenance. Since January of 2010, he has also assumed the president of ScinoPharm (Changshu). Prior to joining ScinoPharm, Dr. Cheng worked initially as EHS Engineer, later on was promoted to the Manager of EHS, for Grand Pacific Petrochemical Corporation located in Kaohsiung Ta-She Industrial Park from 1995 to 1998.
Dr. Cheng has a B.S. degree of Chemical Engineering from National Tsing-Hua University, M.S. degree of Environmental Sciences and Engineering from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Ph.D. of Industrial Hygiene from Johns Hopkins University. He is an active member of American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) and was registered as qualified Environmental Auditor with Environmental Auditors Registration Association (EARA) in UK. He is also a certified class-A air pollution control professional and certified class-A safety and health superintendent in Taiwan.

Dr. Portia Lin has been working at ScinoPharm for more than 11 years starting as being a research scientist in R&D for 2 years. In 2001 Dr. Portia Lin transferred to Marketing & Sales and started sales development for generic APIs and now in charge of Marketing & Sales team for global sales activities for generic and CRAM business. Dr. Lin holds a Ph.D in chemistry from Hong Kong Polytech University, a B.S and M.S. both in chemistry from Chung-Hsing University.

Hsiao Y. Guh, Ph.D. | Vice President, Quality Management |
Ph.D., Analytical Chemistry
Dr Guh has nearly 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He has held various technical and managerial positions of increasing responsibilities in quality control, research & development, and project management. Dr. Guh began his professional career at Pfizer in 1981. There he accumulated 12 years of industry experience in QC, and later as Project Leader in Research unit to provide analytical support for process development. In 1993, he joined Johnson Pharmaceutical Research Institute as Research Manager of Analytical R&D, and was appointed as the CM&C Project Director of Global Chemical and Pharmaceutical Development in 1995, where he led multiple teams successfully submitting 5 NDAs of oral and injectable medicines. Most recently, Dr. Guh was President and Founder of Andax LLC, providing consulting help in GMP audit and compliance, and management of regulatory submissions and inspections. Dr. Guh holds a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Michigan State University, and two Master’s degrees: one in Analytical Chemistry from University of Missouri and the other in Computer Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He graduated from National Taiwan University with a B.S. degree in Chemistry.

Patricia Chou has been a CFO for a publicly (NASDAQ) listed company for five years. She has held a number of senior leadership positions within high-tech companies and is on the Board of Kanghui Holdings, a medical devices company, as an independent director and audit committee chairperson. In these roles, she has guided financial growth and strategic development, executed mergers and acquisitions, raised capital and debt, and implemented various business and operational systems.
She most recently served as the Chief Financial Officer of Actions Semiconductor Co., Ltd, where she improved the company’s financial yield significantly, built a strong finance team and also implemented a number of industry best practices in financial reporting and corporate governance. Prior to joining Actions Semiconductor Co., Ltd. in November 2006, she was director of business development and then senior director of accounting at Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation, or SMIC, where she was responsible for establishing a U.S. presence, developing new business initiatives, and leading SMIC’s global accounting team. She also participated in raising US$650 million in private funds and SMIC’s US$1.6 billion NYSE-listed initial public offering. From 1996 to 2001, Patricia was the director of accounting and planning of Winbond Electronics Corporation U.S. operation. She started her career in 1992 with Deloitte working as a financial auditor in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the United States.
Patricia holds a MBA degree from University of California, Berkeley, and a M.A. degree in Accounting from University of Southern California, and a B.S. degree in Business Administration from National Taiwan University. She is also one of the few Public Accountants certified in all three locations: Taiwan, the United States and China.

Dr. Younan Shih has more than 20 years experience in chemical and pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Shih spent 2 years at University of Minnesota as postdoctoral fellow studied on bio-organic chemistry. Prior to joining ScinoPharm in 1998, Dr. Shih spent 2 years worked on research and development at Kuo Tai Resin Ind. Co., Yung-Shing Pharmaceutical Co. and Academia Sinica. He then spent 7 years at Ciba-Geigy, Novartis, Ciba Specialty Chemicals on quality control and assurance, environment health & safety and product registration.
Dr. Shih holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from Cornell University, a M.S. and B.S. both in Chemistry from Tamkang University. Dr. Shih is a member of Chinese Chemical Society, American Chemical Society, International Society Pharmaceutical Engineer.
