Many currently marketed drugs are either plant derived or synthetic derivatives of these, including important anti-cancer compounds such as Paclitaxel and Irinotecan.Through our contracts or joint ventures, we have multiple plantations and extraction facilities to ensure access to selected important plant derived chemicals and selected genetically homogeneous biologic species.

ScinoPharm's plantations are managed under Good Agricultural Practice (GAP) where Environmental Assessments ensure that pesticides are rigorously controlled. ScinoPharm is also compliant with the EMEA/410/01 requirements regarding TSE (Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies) and BSE (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathies), more generally referred to as "Mad Cow Disease".

We can assure our customers that the chemicals that we are using in our extraction processes are not derived from animal sources that may have TSE or BSE.
