ScinoPharm Strengthens Three Core Business Pillars and Continues to Optimize Capacity Allocation
ScinoPharm Taiwan, Ltd. (TWSE: 1789) held its online investor conference today, reporting consolidated revenue of US$42.3 million and NT$1,338 million for the first half of 2026. In its API business, several core products supported gross margin performance through product portfolio optimization and continued cost improvements. However, profitability was affected by slower sales of customers’ products, adjustments to production schedules and supply arrangements, as well as operating shortfalls from an investee company. In the second half of the year, ScinoPharm will continue to strengthen its three core business pillars and optimize capacity allocation to support revenue growth.
Strengthening Three Core Business Pillars: APIs, Pharma and CDMO
ScinoPharm continues to focus on the development of its three core businesses—APIs, Pharma and CDMO—to build a resilient and sustainable operating structure. For its API business, the Company will enhance the competitiveness of core products, deepen its understanding of market and customer needs, strengthen its position within the supply chain, and actively expand its customer base and market presence.
For Pharma Business, ScinoPharm continues to advance product registrations and regulatory approvals in the United States and Taiwan, while also pursuing opportunities in other non-U.S. markets. In March this year, the Company’s Glatiramer Acetate injection for multiple sclerosis was officially shipped to the United States, marking an important milestone toward commercialization. ScinoPharm will continue to maximize the commercial value of approved products and further expand its market presence. Meanwhile, the Company has formally submitted a U.S. drug application for an injectable product indicated for weight management and is actively working with the regulatory authority to complete responses to information requests (IRs).
In Taiwan, ScinoPharm obtained regulatory approval for Bortezomib, a treatment for multiple myeloma, at the end of 2025. Bortezomib is the first multiple myeloma injectable product manufactured in-house at ScinoPharm’s facility and, as the only domestically manufactured product of its kind in Taiwan, has received approvals from both the U.S. FDA and Taiwan FDA (TFDA). The product was included in Taiwan’s National Health Insurance reimbursement program in June this year, marking an important step toward establishing a local supply of ScinoPharm’s finished drug products.
For the GLP-1 portfolio, ScinoPharm’s submitted injectable product for diabetes treatment is currently under regulatory review, and the Company is actively responding to the authority’s inquiries. ScinoPharm looks forward to obtaining regulatory approval in the near term. In line with the government’s initiatives to promote domestic pharmaceutical manufacturing and strengthen supply chain resilience, ScinoPharm will continue to actively invest in and expand its local pharmaceutical capabilities.
In terms of strategic external partnerships, ScinoPharm will continue to expand co-development opportunities with strategic partners, pursue additional commercialization opportunities for 505(b)(2) products, develop new strategic partnerships, and capture additional supply opportunities.
For its CDMO business, ScinoPharm will continue to focus on its areas of expertise, including peptides, steroids, and cytotoxic products, while optimizing production-line capacity allocation to improve project execution efficiency and supply flexibility. By integrating technical, commercial, and capacity assessments, the Company aims to improve the conversion efficiency of CDMO opportunities into projects. ScinoPharm will also enhance its international visibility to broaden its customer base and expand business development channels.
Deepening Its Presence in Taiwan and Strengthening Local Supply Resilience
Looking ahead, ScinoPharm will continue to steadily advance its three core business pillars and expand into the finished drug market by pursuing regulatory approvals for additional products with strong market potential, contributing to the development of Taiwan’s national healthcare safety net.
ScinoPharm also looks forward to deepening collaboration with domestic pharmaceutical companies, healthcare providers, and industry partners by combining complementary expertise to address healthcare needs in Taiwan. Through these efforts, the Company aims to strengthen Taiwan’s domestic pharmaceutical capabilities and supply chain resilience while creating more tangible and long-term healthcare value for patients.
