ScinoPharm Arts Forum Promotes Healing Through Art and Compassion
ScinoPharm Taiwan's annual arts and culture lecture series, ScinoPharm Arts Forum, concluded successfully on the evening of October 14, marking 17 consecutive years of the company's commitment to arts and cultural engagement. A signature cultural event in the Southern Taiwan Science Park, the forum attracts enthusiastic participation from the surrounding community each year. This year’s event, themed "Art That Connects, Love That Heals" marked the first collaboration with the HOPE Foundation for Cancer Care and featured interdisciplinary artist Mr. Eyeball, who shared his creative journey and personal experiences. Through his reflections on how art has accompanied him through different stages of life, he highlighted that art is more than a form of creative expression—it can also offer comfort, connection, and companionship, allowing people to walk alongside one another with love.
Mr. Eyeball has long used art to raise awareness of social issues and support underserved communities. Through his creative work, he has engaged with people at different stages of life, while continuing to develop art initiatives for older adults and community-based cultural projects. During the lecture, he also shared his personal experience of accompanying a family member through illness. Reflecting on the uncertainty of life and the importance of understanding, support, and companionship, he explained how these experiences became a source of inspiration for his art, giving his work deeper meaning. Art, he emphasized, does not exist solely in galleries or on stages; it can also serve as a gentle yet powerful means of expressing emotions, conveying care, and offering support.
Mr. Eyeball has also collaborated with the HOPE Foundation for Cancer Care for many years on art-based supportive programs. Through painting, installation art, drama, and group activities, these initiatives seek to help people affected by cancer and their families express their emotions and ease the stress associated with treatment.
Through this collaboration, ScinoPharm Arts Forum brought artistic expression and cancer care together, highlighting art’s role as a source of comfort and companionship. By encouraging participants to express their feelings through colors and creative activities and to share their experiences with others, the initiative underscored the supportive value of art. It also expanded the meaning of "safeguarding life" beyond medicine and science to include moments when people need understanding, connection, and companionship.
