ScinoPharm Appoints Patricia Chou as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Corporate Development

 

ScinoPharm, a leading global supplier of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), today announced the appointment of Patricia Chou as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Corporate Development. She will report directly to Dr. Jo Shen, President and CEO of ScinoPharm.

As Chief Financial Officer, Patricia Chou will have the overall responsibility of all corporate financial activities as well as investor relations. She will lead the development and implementation of the long term financial strategy of ScinoPharm. In addition to her CFO responsibilities, Patricia Chou will assume the newly created position of Vice President, Corporate Development. In this role, she will be responsible for leading the development as well as providing the infrastructure for implementation of Corporate Business Strategies including updating the strategies for our core API business, identifying and managing merger and acquisition opportunities, as well as developing new business initiatives worldwide in order to accelerate the growth of ScinoPharm.

Patricia Chao has been a CFO for a publicly (NASDAQ) listed company for five years. Prior to joining ScinoPharm, Patricia Chou has served as chief financial officer of Actions Semiconductor Co., Ltd, where she improved the company’s yield significantly, built a strong finance team and also implemented a number of industry best-practices in financial reporting and corporate governance. Prior to joining Actions Semiconductor Co., Ltd. in 2006, she was director of business development and then senior director of accounting at Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation, or SMIC, where she was responsible for establishing a U.S. presence, developing new business initiatives, and leading SMIC’s global accounting team. She also participated in raising US$650 million in private funds and SMIC’s US$1.6 billion NYSE-listed initial public offering. From 1996 to 2001, Patricia was the director of accounting and planning of Winbond Electronics Corporation U.S. operation. She started her career in 1992 with Deloitte working as a financial auditor in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the United States.

Patricia Chou holds a MBA degree from University of California, Berkeley, and a M.A. degree in Accounting from University of Southern California, and a B.S. degree in Business Administration from National Taiwan University. She is also a Certified Public Accountant in Taiwan, the United States and China.
